Influence of the war in Ukraine on delivery and postpartum adaptation of newborn babies of Ukrainian refugees

This bachelor thesis is studying the influence of the war in Ukraine on the delivery and postpartum adaptation of newborn babies of Ukrainian refugees. Analysed factors are ways of giving birth, blood loss, perineal tears, and the Apgar score of newborn babies. This thesis is further divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is dedicated to the anatomy of women`s pelvis, perineal muscles, physiological delivery, operative vaginal birth, caesarean section, newborn adaptation, transcultural nursing, and the war in Ukraine. The practical part is made as a research survey for which analytical collecting of data was used. The data used in the practical part is taken from NIS MEDEA at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the 1st Faculty of Medicine and General University Hospital in Prague, Apolinářská 18, Prague 2. The influence of selected factors on the method of childbirth and perineal lacerations

This bachelor's thesis describes if selected factors influence the method of childbirth and injuries during childbirth. These factors are the mother's BMI before pregnancy, the number of births to date, mother's age and the weight of the fetus. The data in the practical part are collected from the NIS MEDEA, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague, Apolinářská 18, Prague 2, Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the work focuses on the general anatomy of the female pelvis, and describes the types of perineal lacerations and surgical vaginal births and their risks. Birth trauma prevention during spontaneous and operative delivery

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to define prevention procedures which are part of the antenatal and perinatal care and precedes birth trauma. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the most important risk factors for the birth injuries and the sum of particular types. These types of injuries are divided into a sections by body part and type of tissue. The thesis also looks into postnatal examination of newborn and nursing care which is specific for newborn with birth trauma. The practical part consists of case report of the newborn with brachial plexus injury of the left arm. This case study describes the course of childbirth and the condition of the newborn. Case study includes nursing care plan which is created according to Virginie Henderson's nursing model. Based on the findings, the thesis concludes with recommendation on the practice of prevention of birth trauma including description of preventive procedures as a part of antenatal and perinatal care.
